TERMS AND CONDITIONS

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the use of the website 3dtech.ie and the purchasing of custom 3D printing, 3D scanning, and CAD modeling services provided by 3D Tech (“we”, “us”, “our”). By placing an order or using our website, you (“Customer”, “User”) agree to be bound by these Terms in full.

1. Scope of Services

3D Tech provides custom manufacturing services including, but not limited to:

  • On-demand 3D printing based on customer-submitted 3D CAD files (STL, OBJ, 3MF, STEP).
  • 3D scanning and reverse engineering of physical parts.
  • Custom Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and 3D modeling services.
  • Sale of pre-designed or custom 3D-printed components.

2. Customer File Submissions & Intellectual Property

By uploading, transmitting, or submitting digital files (including STL, STEP, OBJ, or 3MF files) to 3dtech.ie, you warrant and represent that:

  • You are the rightful owner of the intellectual property or hold valid licenses/permissions to reproduce the design.
  • The design does not infringe upon any third-party patents, copyrights, trademarks, or proprietary rights.
  • The design does not contain illegal, dangerous, or restricted items under Irish and European Union law (such as firearms, weapons, restricted medical devices, or counterfeit goods).

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order if we suspect an intellectual property infringement or safety risk.

3. Order Process, Pricing & Quotes

  • Instant quotes generated by our online 3D Print Calculator are based on automated geometric estimations (volume, material usage, print time). We reserve the right to adjust pricing or reject files if a model contains non-printable geometries or structural defects.
  • All prices are quoted in Euros (€). Orders become binding upon receipt of full payment or explicit order confirmation.

4. Materials & Manufacturing Tolerances

3D printing (Additive Manufacturing) is a layer-by-layer manufacturing process. Customers acknowledge that:

  • Minor surface variations, layer lines, and support marks are natural characteristics of FDM/FFF 3D printing and do not constitute manufacturing defects.
  • Standard dimensional tolerances for industrial FDM parts are within ±0.2mm or 0.2% of the intended geometry, whichever is greater.
  • Material properties (PLA, PETG, PETG-CF, ASA) must be selected carefully by the customer based on thermal, mechanical, and outdoor UV exposure requirements.

5. Cancellation & Right of Withdrawal (Irish & EU Consumer Law)

Under the European Union (Consumer Information, Cancellation and Other Rights) Regulations 2013 (S.I. No. 484/2013), the statutory 14-day right of cancellation/withdrawal does NOT apply to custom-made or personalized goods.

  • Because 3D printed items, custom CAD designs, and 3D scanning jobs are manufactured to your exact specifications, orders cannot be canceled or refunded once production has commenced.
  • For non-customized standard off-the-shelf products purchased from our online shop, consumers retain a 14-day right to cancel from the date of physical delivery. Returned items must be unused and in original condition.

6. Warranty, Defects & Returns

In accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2022 (Ireland):

  • If a custom part arrives defective, damaged, or significantly non-conforming to the submitted CAD file specifications, you must notify us within 14 days of receipt with photos/description of the issue.
  • If verified, we will either reprint the part at no additional charge or issue a full or partial refund.
  • We are not responsible for part failure resulting from inadequate engineering design, incorrect customer-supplied CAD geometry, or improper material selection for specialized structural loads.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Irish law, 3D Tech shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the use or inability to use our manufactured components. Our total aggregate liability for any claim shall not exceed the total amount paid by the customer for the specific order.

8. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ireland. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of Ireland.
